A picture is worth a thousand words when selling your home. Investing in professional photos for MLS and other marketing purposes is a definite must.
As most buyers begin their home search online, photos will be their first impression of your property. Your photos should wow potential buyers to get them through the door. Here are some tips to prepare your home:
Exterior:
- Clean landscaping by mowing, trimming shrubs, remove debris
- Remove empty planters
- Sweep cobwebs from eaves and door frames
- Remove toys, sporting equipment, trash, etc.
General:
- Thoroughly clean (vacuum, mop floors, clean counter tops and windows)
- Turn ON overhead lights and lamps
- Replace any burned out light bulbs
- Ensure all light bulbs are the same temperature
- Turn OFF ceiling fans
- Turn OFF televisions
- Turn OFF computer screens
- Open blinds and window treatments for natural light appeal
- Remove personal photographs and/or replace with generic art
- Make all beds
- Remove rugs to highlight flooring
Backyard:
- Clean porch, tidy up outdoor tables/chairs/cushions
- Remove any faded patio cushions
- Clean pool
- Hide pool cleaning supplies
- Turn ON pool fountains/water features
- Remove visible water hoses
- Remove trash cans
- Clear pet waste/toys
